The Atlantic Ocean in its sights, the warmth of the Basque Country and generosity. In Biarritz, hospitality is sacred. Welcome to Émilie Berjot's place.
"Each day, I thrive through interacting with a varied clientèle and with the people I cross paths daily."
Welcoming people and giving them the desire to discover the Basque Country: those are some of my priorities admits Émilie. The Originals City, Hotel Amarys, Biarritz Aéroport, which she runs, is warm and hospitality is key. "My team and I maintain close relationships with our customers" adds Émilie. In this 3 star hotel near the Biarritz airport, authenticity is a shared value and comfort a must. Its 75 air-conditioned rooms and its restaurant make it a particularly pleasant place to stay, just steps away from the beach. All the more since its contemporary styled rooms are equipped with all that is necessary to guarantee a successful holiday or business experience. Because, as Émilie mentions, "each day, every effort is made to make our guests' life easier and their stay as pleasant as possible".
Comfortable, practical and spacious: the hotel's 75 air-conditioned rooms and the 3 family rooms, some of which with a balcony, offer all the necessary comfort. Certain rooms have been adapted to welcome people with impaired mobility under the best possible conditions. "Here, a customer is not a number; we offer a non-standardised hotel experience", explains Émilie who takes great care in her guests' well-being.

Friendly and warm, The Originals City, Hotel Amarys, Biarritz Aéroport has its own restaurant. When the weather permits it, the meals are served on a lovely terrace. You can also relax at the Amarys lounge bar and order its delicious tapas for the aperitif. And discover two emblematic liquors from the Basque Country: the izarra and the patxaran. Finally, to get off to the right start, Émilie offers a continental, buffet-style breakfast with, among others, AOC sheep milk's cheese, a genuine Basque cake and authentic grilled streaky bacon.
With the label "maître-restaurateur", the restaurant offers a locally-inspired cuisine, inventive and tasty, based on fresh and seasonal products from the Basque Country. The chef, Pierre Marquisseau, attaches great importance to the attractiveness of his various formulas as well as to his gourmet menu. Each Thursday, the chef prepares an original and quality burger made from local products. His customers love it. Also to be discovered: the duckling loin from the Landes, cream of girolle mushrooms, crustacean oil and mini candied cauliflower with dried Wagyu beef, etc.
In close proximity to Biarritz and to the Atlantic's beautiful beaches, this welcoming hotel can be the occasion for making wonderful discoveries in the Basque Country.
BASQUE COUNTRY OUTINGSÉmilie recommends a walk - or even a hike - along the coastal footpath from Bidard to Hendaye. 54 km long, the trail begins at the Erretegia beach in Bidart. An iodine-perfumed stroll on Biarritz or Guétary's old harbours. Discovering the forest of Iraty and the Kakuetta gorges with the famous Holzarte footbridge. Émilie also recommends visiting two magnificent villages located on the Spanish side: Urdax and Zugarramurdi.
BIARRITZBiarritz, surfing capital and true gem of the Atlantic coast, contains a rich architectural heritage and numerous museums. The city also offers an abundance of activities, both cultural and leisure. You can also surf, golf, play rugby or relax at the health spa. To discover: the Cité de l'Océan, of course, but also the Biarritz History Museum located in an old Anglican church, the Musée Asiatica, the Biarritz Olympique History Museum and the imperial chapel, etc. And the emblematic lighthouse with its 248 steps.
SAINT-JEAN-DE-LUZFacing the ocean, Saint-Jean-de-Luz reveals itself as one of the Atlantic coast's numerous gems. The city, with its magnificent bay, contains beautiful seaside villas, painted wood Basque houses, important residences belonging to shipowners and 17th century palaces. The gentle life envelops the city from Grande Plage to the small fishing harbour.

"Perfect for our needs"
We flew in late and needed a place to stay. I booked the room at the airport then we walked about 5 minutes overto the hotel. The room was small but comfortable. There was an electric fan that made the room quite pleasant. The bathroom was large! There was plenty closet space and a nice desk and chair.
At the heart of the Basque Country, near Biarritz and the Ocean, the hotel offers a modern, bright and perfectly equipped seminar room.
