Glacier views with a chalet feel. Warm, friendly, open, comfortable and plenty of quality dining. Welcome to Francis Barlier’s hotel.
“We offer warmth and wellness, ensuring all our guests feel at home” .
When Francis discovered this beautiful traditional Swiss chalet built in 1872, found just outside the village of Diablerets, it was love at first sight. “That day, I found my true calling for the second chapter in my life”. The Paris art dealer then embarked on a complete refurbishment of the building with great passion. His goal was to offer a dream location, creating a family-style atmosphere that would always be welcoming to guests. “In the 1900s, literary and musical evenings were held here, as well as a number of small theatre ensembles”. Today, the fire still crackles in the large tiled stove in the dining room at the Hotel The Originals Boutique Hotel du Pillon, the house cat happily gets to know the guests and Francis is still always on hand to assist. He sees his 3-star hotel as a guest house where a personal touch reigns supreme. “We may not have a spa, but we often take our guests out skiing...”
Throughout the Hotel Boutique Hotel du Pillon, The Originals Relais’ 14 rooms, a real authentic chalet atmosphere, simultaneously warm, comfortable and timeless can be felt, with a few little nods to Switzerland, such as the red mugs adorned with white crosses, as well as the slippers also in the country’s colours, and the cases for hiding the television remote. Not always enormous, but all perfectly designed, the rooms are bright and all open out onto a balcony offering panoramic mountain views.
