Transports in Germany

Lots of budget airlines run services between the major Germany population centres. The road network is famously well-maintained with some exceptional stretches of high-speed motorway where you can really put your foot down. Even faster railway services cross the country and this is a way that many Germans prefer to travel.

WHEN TO GO TO GERMANY ?

If you want to enjoy the great outdoors by hiking and spending time at Germany's many lakeside resorts, then the summer is, without doubt, the best time to come. Berlin and many other German cities are famed for their excellent Christmas markets which generally run from late November until the New Year. A large festival takes place in Frankfurt each spring, held at its Ratsweg Fairground. Another great time to come to Germany is in the early autumn when Oktoberfest is a big feature of the calendar.

WHAT TO DO IN GERMANY ?

A BREWERY TOUR IN MUNICH

It is well worth it even if you are not a fan of beer. There are plenty of beer making sites to choose from and the tastings at the end are always a highlight.

THE JEWISH MUSEUM IN BERLIN

It is one of the most touching of all sites you could visit in the country and it offers many insights into the country's more troubling history.

THE NÜRBURGRING

It is one of the world's most exciting and challenging racing tracks. You can book yourself a slot to take on its fiendishly difficult corners if you dare.
