Conviviality, comfort, charm... When a hotel becomes a family home. Welcome to Catherine and Jean-Paul Belabed’s hotel.
“ A hotel with a human dimension where you feel at ease, just as if you were at home. ”
“Our hotel is really an oasis in the city,” Catherine and Jean-Paul proudly say. Together, they have given The Originals City, Hotel Le Pavillon d'Enghien, Vichy Centre a welcoming family feel in luxuriant green surroundings in the heart of Vichy. And they will soon celebrate its 40th anniversary! “Our guests have seen us start out and develop and they’ve seen our children grow up.” The clientele here is loyal. It’s worth saying that the warm welcome provided by the couple, the charming, sophisticated rooms and the simple, pared back cuisine all give this hotel a family feel we could do with seeing more often. An accommodation experience in Vichy, France, with the human at the heart. It's also an experience enabling guests to really get away from it all, with the banks of the River Allier and most beautiful parks in the city nearby. The memorable little detail? The Vichy pastilles at the reception desk. For some, these will be a new taste, while for others they will bring back memories of childhood: everyone will have their own experience when trying this local speciality.
Catherine and Jean-Paul have created 20 rooms at their hotel. “Because each should be different,” the hotelier explains, every room is decorated in the latest colours including fuchsia, turquoise, brown, purple and mauve. Each room is different, charming and sophisticated. Most rooms look out onto the courtyard, the quiet leafy terrace and the swimming pool.

In the welcoming restaurant or, better yet, in the garden bordering the swimming pool in fine weather, Catherine serves healthy, simple and imaginative dishes made using ingredients from the market. The flavours are delicate and light, designed for the many people visiting Vichy for the waters. The hearty breakfast buffet with cheese from Auvergne, artisan breads and pastries, freshly squeezed orange juice and homemade cakes among other delights can also be enjoyed looking out on, or in, the garden.
When the weather isn’t warm enough to use the pool, feel free to ask for advice on what to you’d like to do from Catherine and Jean-Paul. They are bursting with ideas to make sure your time in their much loved city is unforgettable.
IN NEED OF SOME GREENERYVichy is one of the “greenest” cities in France, with one sixth of its surface area comprising green spaces. Parc Napoléon III is particularly remarkable with its 7.8 hectares of land and 138 different species. If you’re in need of even more greenery, visit Parc des Célestins, Parc des Bourins, Parc du Soleil, Parc Omnisports Pierre Coulon or Parc de l’Esplanade at Allier Lake.
IN NEED OF WELL-BEINGEnjoy the benefits of the “Queen of the spa towns” by being pampered at one of the three thermal baths or many spas in the area. Need help deciding which to choose? Jean-Paul and Catherine will recommend one of their partner establishments.
IN NEED OF SOME THRILLSTake advantage of your stay to change things up and try something new! Options include golf, horse racing, an evening at the opera or casino... Enjoy unique times together.

"Wonderful night in Vichy"
We stayed in Vichy for one night and opted for this hotel which was a great idea. Owners are lovely people (and customer oriented) and the room was perfect. We recommend the breakfast as well.
