Romanticism and "art de vivre" in Tuscany, the elegance of an Italian villa and the beauty of the Chianti hillsides. Welcome to Massimo Tani and Riccardo Costanti's hotel.
"What is it that motivates me and appeals to me? My passion for architecture and design, my interest in hospitality" .
Located between Florence and Sienna, at the heart of Tuscany, this 4 star hotel is an ode to Italian "art de vivre". The Hotel The Originals Villa Sassolini is "an oasis of peace and luxury in the middle of Tuscany's unspoilt back-country", adds Massimo. This 14th century villa, nestled in a picturesque village, was the summer home of important Florentine families like the Guidiabrite counts. Its owners, Massimo and Ricardo, have successfully combined its historical charm with a clean design to give this home, and its 12 rooms and suites, a particular harmony of styles. This haven of peace also houses a restaurant, a spa and a magnificent swimming pool. An ideal location for discovering Tuscany's splendours.
The rooms feature monochromatic colour schemes and natural fabrics for a style combining design and tradition, explains Massimo. The objective? To surprise and seduce. Each of the 12 rooms and suites, ranging in size from 18 to 55 m2, is unique, combining beauty and comfort, elegance and romanticism. The colours are soothing and the materials noble: the rooms and suites invite you to relax after a long day spent visiting the Tuscan region. And to continue admiring it from your balcony or a terrace, depending on your room selection.

Enjoy each moment of your day on the "terrazza", from the continental breakfast to the apéritif, and continue on with a candle-lit dinner with a splendid view. FLORENCEFlorence, home to the Médicis and Dante, remains a mythical Italian city. One should wander its streets during both day and night and, above all, visit the must-see attractions like the Uffizzi Gallery which is one of the world's richest museums. Its collections let you follow the evolution of Italian painting from the primitives up to the masters of the 17th century. Don't forget the Palazzo del Podestà with its courtyard, one of the most beautiful in Italy, and the national museum of Bargello that houses Italian Renaissance sculpture masterpieces along with an area dedicated to the decorative arts. You'll discover Michelangelo's bronzes and the exceptional collection of Donatello works.
SIENNASienna is a magical city. Its streets seem to cling to three hillsides of reddish clay while meandering within the remarkably large fortified walls before reaching a true marvel: the Piazza del Campo - magical - where beats the heart of the city. It's on this square that is celebrated each year the Palio delle Contrade, giving the city's 17 neighbourhoods (contrade) the chance to compete against each other.
What our customers say
"Villa Sassolini is in a class by itself"
We enjoyed our 3 days of peace and tranquility from the second that we arrived to the second that we left. Everything was superb. George who seems to do everything and seems to be everywhere was there in the wee hours of the morning until very late at night. He is extremely dedicated thoughtful and kind. We have stayed in many RELAIS ET CHATEAUX and we think thIs RELAIS DU SILENCE property is just as good if not better. Keep up the good work! We can’t wait to come back hopefully for 3 weeks and not 3 days. Grazie!
"Heaven also with a baby"
We had a very pleasant stay with our 1-year-old bub.
"A Perfect Getaway"
The hotel garden and pool area are simply stunning. This property was designed with great care attention to detail love for design and the guest in mind. It has the most beautiful spaces to relax that provide privacy but also opportunity to socialize. Andrea and team take exceptional care of their guests and provide for a very pleasant stay. The breakfast was wonderful: From cereals/muesli fresh and seasonal fruit salad to high quality cold cuts and cheeses croissants and breads scrambled eggs and bacon etc. - there is most likely something for every taste. The hotel offers a nice a la carte lunch menu that does not need to be pre-ordered. A dinner reservation can be made in the morning so that the chef can plan accordingly. We found this very convenient since it did not require to book any meals in advance with the hotel room. Villa Sassolini is an amazing place to relax and enjoy and also close enough to Siena and Florence (a ~45 to 60 min drive) for day trips.
