Past meets modern at the Masseria Stali. The past is the farm in Caprarica di Lecce, Puglia, which Pantaleo (Léo) and Rita inherited in 2002. He was an engineer, she was a teacher. The modernity is their desire to inject new life into the family business which they took over “without a healthy dose of courage”! In 2016, the couple opened up 20 brand-new rooms to their first guests who came not only in search of the place’s beauty and tranquillity but, more importantly, to dive into a hugely popular trend in Italy: agrotourism. “We see it as a way of introducing our guests to our agricultural know-how, our culinary specialities, our rural culture and our love of the land.” All in a peaceful, spectacular, authentic and modern setting with five-star services.

In the hotel’s 20 rooms, Léo and Rita wanted the design to pay tribute to the traditional Puglia home: walls in Lecce stone, exposed beams, an understated layout and a decor created with local crafts and materials. All very spacious, these rooms are real havens with beautiful glass door-windows opening onto the surrounding nature but keeping the sometimes stifling heat at bay.

You’ll enjoy breakfast and dinner under the farm’s period vaults or a huge pergola. In the morning, a generous buffet is served. The bread and cakes are made with farm wheat and the fruit harvested in the orchard. The other products not produced on-site come from local channels. The restaurant takes the same approach with a focus on Puglia cuisine which is renowned as some of the best in Italy.

Our motto here is simplicity, tradition, innovation and 0 km! The menu changes with the seasons “and what Mother Nature provides,” says Léo. You’ll enjoy a light breakfast near the pool bar. The menu features vegetables and snacks. Recharge your batteries before diving into the pool!
The restaurant is also open in the evening. One of the house specialities? Orecchiette with black olive pâté, made entirely at the Masseria Stali!

Very charming welcome by Roberta. Fabulous rooms eand excellent diners. The temperature int he rooms was perfect as it was very cold in the area by mid March 2022. Very nice oil testing and diner and show the second evening.

"The perfect Masseria in Puglia "

"A great hotel with beautiful outdoor area"

The hotel is very welcoming. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I also liked the outdoor area very much. However, the best thing about the hotel was the very friendly staff. I will be happy to come back again.

"Good relax."

"Summer in Salento"

We had a taste of Salento while staying at Masseria Stali two years ago. We knew we had to be back for more! And where better to make our base than the hotel that impressed us so much. The hotel is set away from the crowds in an idyllic olive plantation. The staff, the rooms, the pool, the restaurant- everything excellent! Hats off to the creative minds behind this beautiful place.
