Transports in Austria

Some of the big cities, like Vienna and Salzburg, offer day passes for local public transport. Look out for SparSchiene if you are travelling by train between cities because this will often result in large reductions on the usual price due to special offers. Bus services are not frequent and can be non-existent in some rural areas so car travel is recommended instead.
