Matthieu describes himself as “an enthusiastic entrepreneur in the hospitality sector.” A former Human Resources Director and also an interior architect, the entrepreneur is now a hotelier! A new professional adventure that began in April 2025, when he fell in love with a 1905 building located right in the heart of Vichy. A hotel that had been closed for several years.

Nine months of work were needed to bring it back to life and rename it The Originals Relais, Flore Hôtel & Jardin. A garden? Yes, hidden from the street and bordering the hotel’s 34 rooms. A flower-filled garden where “it’s a pleasure to slow down and read, comfortably settled in a deck chair.”

In addition to its accommodation offering, the establishment provides one to two seminar rooms for hosting professional events in a distinctive setting.

Lined along open walkways overlooking a small flower-filled garden hidden from outside view, the 34 rooms at The Originals Relais, Flore Hôtel & Jardin are soothing, welcoming cocoons.

Fully renovated and air-conditioned to ensure optimal comfort, they are divided into three categories (Essential, Comfort, and Superior). Families will find just what they need in the two suites that can accommodate four or five guests.

“I like to describe our accommodations as places of rest, somewhere between a family home and a Zen garden,” says Matthieu.
