A friendly hotel. An original setting. Quality services. Welcome to Ludovic Didier’s hotel.
“Friendliness, cleanliness, guest satisfaction and hospitality come first!”
Hotel diploma in hand, Ludovic went where the opportunities took him, crossing France in the process. He travelled to Paris, Rouen Saint Sever and Coquelles in Hauts-de-France. “In 2004, I started my own business, purchasing my first hotel in Rouen.” He then spent 14 years in Aurillac. In February 2020, Ludovic settled in northern Bourges where he took over The Originals Access Bourges Nord Saint-Doulchard. A two-star hotel with 38 rooms, he began by renovating the communal areas. His motto: friendliness, cleanliness and guest satisfaction. With his team, Ludovic enthusiastically manages his hotel like a guesthouse, always ready to be of assistance. The one standout point? “The boss’s welcome!” smiles the man that is often described as receptive, quick, efficient and a joker. He’s a philosopher too: “do the job you love, and you’ll never have to work a single day in your life,” he says happily, borrowing from Confucius.
You’ll enjoy silent and peaceful nights in the 38 functional and pleasant rooms at The Originals Access Bourges Nord Saint-Doulchard. There’s no need to fear the noise from the nearby B-road! With a private bathroom (in dazzling colours), the hotel’s rooms are also air conditioned and come with free Wi-Fi. Choose your desired setup from the twin, double or triple options.
By unanimous agreement, the breakfast is a high point at The Originals Access Bourges Nord Saint-Doulchard. In a lovely room in a rustic setting, “Breakfast Time” unfolds around a huge buffet of sweet and savoury offerings. The cheeses and apple juice come from local producers while the fruit, jams, teas, yoghurts and honey boast the organic label. There are no dining options at Ludovic’s hotel but he and his team will be able to point out the best nearby spots for a quick bite or a more sophisticated occasion.
Base yourself at The Originals Access Bourges Saint-Doulchard during a business stopover or trip to Berry. Its quiet setting and warm ambiance make it a popular break.
Famous for its “Printemps” music festival, the town of Bourges is also worth a visit for the Saint-Etienne cathedral, one of the most beautiful in France, the medieval treasures of its old town, Jacques-Cœur Palace, a gem of Gothic architecture, and its little-known 135-hectare marshes lovingly cultivated as family gardens by their enthusiastic owners. A walk in nature at the heart of the town.
You’ll make a thousand and one discoveries while exploring Berry. Art and history with the medieval town of Mehun-sur-Yèvre and the white porcelain factory, and the potter village of La Borne, not to mention the Romanesque abbatial church of Saint-Martin de Plaimpied. You’ll discover flavours with incomparable potato galettes, exquisite wines (Menetou-Salon, Sancerres, etc.) and goat’s cheese (Chavignol, Valençay, Celles-sur-Cher, etc.). You’ll also find literature with Georges Sand’s house in Nohant as well as a buzz at the Magny-Cours race track.
