“Hospitality is much more than a profession for me,” says Florence. “It is a vocation dedicated to service and guest satisfaction.”
Having worked for many years in the management department of the family business, Florence discovered her true calling when her husband was transferred to another region. “I have always been driven by a genuine passion for human connection, customer relations, and the pleasure of welcoming guests.”
After acquiring a first 11-room hotel, followed by a second with 19 rooms, Florence settled in 2010 in the village of Marsannay-la-Côte, the first stop along the Route des Grands Crus, located just 10 minutes from Dijon. There, she established a contemporary 3-star hotel featuring 47 rooms, a restaurant dedicated to local flavors, a seminar room, and a pleasant outdoor swimming pool. Although built close to the vineyards, The Originals City Hôtel Restaurant l’Ormichal takes its name from the old washhouse of Marsannay, a gathering place and center of village life for generations. “It is this spirit of conviviality and authenticity that we continue to uphold today!”

While signature dishes of Burgundian cuisine are featured on the menu at The Originals City, L’Ormichal restaurant, breakfast remains classic, offering both sweet and savoury flavours. Bread, cereals, fruit, dairy products, cured meats, and cheeses are available on the buffet. A distinctive feature of the hotel is that part of the buffet is dedicated exclusively to children. After serving themselves, they can join their families in the dining room or on the terrace by the outdoor swimming pool.

L'Ormichal

Yves, the chef, offers a menu faithful to the products of Burgundy. It is worth noting that the region is home to many iconic dishes: beef bourguignon, snails, gougères, coq au vin… Not to mention the house specialty: eggs in meurette sauce. Open only in the evening. Closed on Sundays.

Passed down from father to son and mother to daughter, this family business is the last of the twelve gingerbread houses that existed in Dijon in the 20th century.
