After working in various regions across France (Alps, Hauts-de-France, Rhône, Loire, etc.), Ophélie chose to settle in Burgundy. First manager of the Hotel Paray-le-Monial, she took over the establishment in 2012. “I want my project to be all about my guests’ well-being. For me, friendliness and hospitality are essential,” she says.
Warm and welcoming, Ophélie has given her 30-room, 3 star hotel a family feel, making it a great place for a one-night stopover in Paray-le-Monial, a weekend or a longer stay to explore the Charollais countryside and the whole of south Burgundy. Located at the gateway to the city near a range of shops, the three-star hotel is quiet despite direct access to the main road. As well as easy access, it comes with a huge car park and a lovely 3000 m² green space perfect for relaxing in the shade of the trees.

BREAKFAST ROOM
Take a seat at one of the tables in the Hotel Paray-le-Monial’s beautiful red veranda and get a dose of vitamin D at breakfast time. Start the day on the right foot with fresh, seasonal, organic or artisan products from the all-you-can-eat buffet. The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant but it will be able to recommend four partner establishments. A room service option is also available with jars from the bistro and Morvan terrine.

THE MOSAIC CENTRE
An art centre exclusively dedicated to the art of mosaic, it plays host to mosaic exhibitions throughout the year. A 25-minute video also looks back at the history of this age-old craft, its tools, materials and techniques, and describes the various aspects of contemporary mosaic art. A major external exhibition also takes place every summer. This international event is the only one of its kind in France.

THE GREENWAY
Calling all cycling enthusiasts! Running alongside the Loire, the Greenway is the chance to enjoy a lovely getaway in the Paray-le-Monial countryside. Option 1: due west, following the former towpath, the Greenway passes through Digoin and its aqueduct, ending in the spa town of Bourbon-Lancy. Option 2: due south, along the former railway track, the Greenway will take you to Pouilly-sous-Charlieu along a flat and very shady path.
