Born on the Île de Ré, Stéphane wanted to go back to his roots to build on his vision of a friendly, people-focused hotel. He built the The Originals Boutique, Hotel de Ré hotel on a family plot right in the middle of the ‘Station Verte’ village of Sainte-Marie de Ré, five minutes from the island’s beaches. It is a comfortable, accessible and friendly 3-star Sainte-Marie de Ré hotel offering excellent value for money to those travelling for business and pleasure alike. It has spacious rooms, a terrace, a heated pool, sun loungers with straw umbrellas, a children’s playground, a pay-to-use car park and a meeting room, and offers a buffet breakfast. This homely and budget-friendly hotel has a ‘Station Verte’ green tourism award and is very special to Stéphane and his team: “our hotel was designed for everyone to be able to come and enjoy unforgettable holidays in the magnificent natural surroundings of the Île de Ré” .

The Originals Boutique, Hotel de Ré has been awarded a number of quality labels, and offers 10 bedrooms and 22 family suites measuring 18 and 28 m² respectively, including 2 rooms and 1 suite which have been adapted for mobility-impaired guests (Tourisme Handicap label for all 4 disabilities). Stylishly decorated in inviting colours, our accommodation near La Rochelle offers guests views over the garden and pool, and come complete with a private terrace. Clean, practical and fully equipped, they include a private bathroom, a flat screen TV with DTT channels and free Wi-Fi.

After a wonderful night’s sleep at our hotel in Sainte-Marie de Ré, guests are invited to enjoy a full breakfast with views out over the pool, either on the terrace or in the dining room. Bread and croissants made by the local baker are on offer, as well as hot drinks, cereal, fruit juice, jam, and other sweet treats for you to start the day off on the right foot. For the rest of the day, Stéphane will be only too happy to recommend good nearby eateries in which to sample a bit of local cuisine.

Everything went according to plan on our arrival. Hotel location easy to find. Very good value for money and a great breakfast selection. All was very good and would definitely recommend this hotel for those on a short holiday break.

"Short Break"

The hotel is located in the ideal place, it is clean and in general all staff are helpful. But on 2 occasion while my wife and I were sat on the terrace area having an evening drink, as I was not getting anyone to come out and take my order I went in to the restaurant/Bar area and asked if I could order some drinks only to be ignored by bar staff who turned and walked away. I went to reception the second night and asked if we were not classed as valued residents as we could not get serviced, the issue I believe was the coach party in the restaurant who took priority over standard clients, in the end the receptionist went and got the drinks for me and the 2 on reception knew exactly who the member of staff was so this must be a regular issue when they are busy.

"Clean, peaceful stay"

Lovely light, spacious room. Excellent swimming pool, clean and well sited. Breakfast was good. Bike rental worked really well. All in all a great stay!

"Relaxing"

Good stopping off stop to visit the island. Driving Some of the village roads is interesting.

"Great quite place in winter"

I came with 2 kids just for 1 night at the end of the Christmas holiday.We had a great time. The room is much bigger than in a hotel and breakfast was good. Room was good value.

PHARE DES BALEINES LIGHTHOUSE

At 57 m high, this lighthouse is one of the tallest in France, and was built in 1849 on the western tip of the Île de Ré. The current model replaced the old lighthouse nearby, which was built in Vauban’s time and is now a museum.
