An Ile de Ré native and an islander at heart, Stéphane dreamt of living and working on the Ile de Ré. He wanted to share his passion for his island with guests. Currently managing the Hotel Les Vignes de la Chapelle, The Originals Relais, is the offshoot of his passion for the Ile de Ré, its protected nature and unique charm. "Our ecological hotel is the only one of its kind on the island. I wanted my guests to be able to really switch off in unspoilt nature. I also wanted to be able to save outstanding natural heritage and a fragile environment," Stéphane tells us. Built like a little village, this four-star hotel offers two rooms and 17 suites, all elegant and balanced. With its swimming pool and wellness centre, it's like a haven of good living.

Our philosophy veers away from ostentatious luxury and towards peace, beauty and delight. We like the authenticity and understated decor typical of the island, says Stéphane. The two rooms and 17 ground-floor suites are a perfect illustration of this simplicity and refined elegance. The 'Traditional' rooms and the 'Seafront Lodge', 'Garden Lodge' and 'Loft' suites boast welcoming terraces and a contemporary style with soothing tones. One of the 'Garden Lodge' suites is adapted to guests with reduced mobility (Tourism and Disability label for all 4 disabilities). For greater freedom, each suite has a 'snack corner', allowing guests to heat up small meals or prepare their own breakfast.

In the morning, the indulgent breakfast buffet will surprise you with 60 or so products, mostly organic and locally sourced. You'll enjoy them in the beautiful dining room or the covered inner courtyard facing the vines and lulled by birdsong and the sound of the waves. After a lovely long day of walks or lazing on the beach or at the poolside, a lounge awaits you for wonderfully relaxing moments with family or friends. You may also choose to relax on the wooden terrace around the swimming pool and make the most of incredible views over the vineyards and sea. In winter, a roaring fire warms the atmosphere in this friendly place.

The hotel offers comfortable bikes for hire. This is a fantastic opportunity to roam the 'white island' and its many cycle paths.
