The Maison des Gabiers features 8 double rooms of 12 m², with colorful decor inspired by the beach huts of Gouville-sur-Mer. The Maison des Equipages, designed for families, offers 14 rooms ranging from 12 to 20 m², including 6 with access to a private terrace furnished with a table and chairs. Finally, the Maison des Amiraux, once reserved for the island’s directors, offers high-end accommodations with its 4 Junior Suites.

The Maritime Museum

Opened in 1992, the island’s museum (the island itself being an open-air museum!) was originally created to present and preserve the many fragments of ships sunk near its shores by the English in 1692. Since then, the site has expanded to include a natural history gallery, a shelter for traditional pleasure and fishing boats, a restoration workshop, a ropery, and another dedicated to the island’s history. It offers a true immersion into the worlds of Fine Arts, terrestrial archaeology, coastal natural history, and maritime ethnology.

The Gardens of Tatihou

There are two types of gardens to discover on the island. The acclimatization gardens, with over a hundred unusual and exotic varieties, a true botanical treasure, and the maritime botanical gardens. Spanning 3 hectares, they are the realm of woody plants, organized according to a thematic tour around the flora of different coastlines: the English Channel, the Atlantic, and the Mediterranean.

The Vauban Tower

The greatest architect of defensive monuments in France also worked on Tatihou Island! Standing 21 meters tall and 20 meters wide, the sturdy tower has watched over "the most beautiful and safest harbor in the Kingdom," according to the architect himself, for over 300 years. From a military stronghold in the time of Louis XIV, it has since become a symbol of the island, as well as a landscape feature. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2008, the tower offers a unique panoramic view of the entire Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue harbor and the Cotentin coastline.
