The good life, charm, authenticity and the flavours of a sophisticated restaurant. Welcome to Marine and Joffrey's hotel.
"Combining all the ingredients to make your stay in Normandy both relaxing and delicious."
In 2015, Marine left the marketing world to take over Hotel Restaurant Les Ormes in Barneville-Carteret near Cherbourg, in Normandy. "As deeply rooted and proud as an elm," the beautiful 19th-century building opens its heart on the marina and garden sides. The latter was created by a famous regional landscaper and based around little converted corners perfect for relaxation. The gentle, harmonious location makes this Norman hotel even more appealing. The former owners' penchant for repainting the interiors every six months is a thing of the past. Powdery pearl grey and ivory tones have replaced the chocolate, Panama yellow and aubergine. The 12 rooms and cosy lounges have been fitted out with sheer fabrics, natural materials and light patinas. Meanwhile, the restaurant, where Marine's husband, Joffrey, works as a chef, takes guests on a subtle journey from land to sea. A fantastic location for exploring the Cotentin Peninsula.
Sometimes small but always lovely, the 12 rooms at Hotel Restaurant Les Ormes have a romantic charm and feel like havens with soft colours, a cosy ambiance bathed in light and sophisticated detail. They offer views over the marina or spectacular garden. Some are in the hotel's outbuilding (the little building at the entrance to the main building). Mobility-impaired guests will also find rooms to meet their needs.

What our customers say
"A very good one night experience"
This was our first stay here and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel was warm and comfortable and we were made to feel welcome, especially by the young gentleman who spoke good English.
"a very calm and pleasant 2 day stay"
room clean and bright well presented ;restaurant meals excellent and good value lovely garden to sit in
"A lovely stop over "
We had one night in the hotel with supper and breakfast as a break from a boating trip. The room was modestly sized but clean and comfortable and fine for one night. The staff were helpful and friendly and the food was absolutely lovely.
Wonderful location, lovely hotel, friendly and very helpful staff, and one of the best meals I’ve had in France (and there have been many!). Only (very slight) niggle is the requirement to order your dessert at the start of your meal. We were told that chef produces each dessert individually and some take a while - I totally get that but sometimes you don’t know whether you want a dessert. However, none of that detracted from a great experience, and we will be back!!
"Just a little faded."
Staff were great, room needs a little attention.
We had some super fine days at Your Hotel. Very friendly and superb location!
