For four generations, the Gerbail family has been overseeing the well-being of The Originals Boutique, Hôtel du Pont Roupt, Mende. Originally a dance hall, the establishment was transformed into a hotel after the war and has continuously evolved over the generations to keep up with the ever-changing expectations of its clientele. "Our house has a long tradition of hospitality," explains Alexandre, who took over the management of this charming hotel in Lozère in 1989. Now, as the heir to this family establishment, Alexandre takes care of the hotel. Generosity, human warmth, your stop at The Originals Boutique, Hôtel du Pont Roupt, Mende, will leave you with a sense of simplicity and authenticity, reflecting the character of the region.

The former capital of Gévaudan is captivating with its urban and rustic art de vivre and substantial cultural and architectural heritage. An industrial and commercial town until the 19th century, Mende was inhabited by nobility and the wealthy middle class which explains the number of private mansions in the town's historic centre. As you roam the narrow medieval alleys, you'll also find a wide variety of facades (timber-framed and half-timbered houses, etc.), small and large oratories, small squares with a subtle charm and a whole host of ancient gates.
