It took almost 3 years of renovation work for The Originals Relais, Le Grand Hôtel Thermal to regain its superb appearance. A short rejuvenation compared to the history of the site, which dates back to the 1st century A.D. "My team and I realize how lucky we are to be working in such a place," says Alexia, the establishment's new manager. The benefits of the 2 springs at Evaux-les-Bains have been known since Gallo-Roman times, but it wasn't until the end of the 19th century that the Creuse site was revived as a spa resort. With 55 rooms and a bistronomic restaurant run by a passionate chef, the place attracts both spa-goers and tourists in search of well-being and serenity. "The building is imposing, but we're still a family establishment," says Alexia. And the "magical" power of the waters is matched by the equally bewitching power of a magnificent region.

LA CITE INTERNATIONALE DE LA TAPISSERIE

Where there's tapestry, there's Aubusson. Born of UNESCO's decision to include the skills of the highly renowned local tapestry industry in the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the Cité internationale opened its doors to the public in 2016. Its mission: to preserve, enrich and showcase a reference collection retracing almost 6 centuries of Aubusson production. THE ABBEY OF SAINTE-VALERIE

Located in Chambon-sur-Voueize, this abbey church, whose foundations date back to the 11th century, is the largest Romanesque church in the Limousin region. This masterpiece, 87.5 m long and 12 m high, is distinguished by its imposing proportions and its 2 bell towers, the eastern of which is known as the "Tour du Chartrier", because it was used to store the monastery's charters and manuscripts.
