It is now an elegant hotel and is also a place where Annick and Yves share their passion for hospitality, service, authenticity and local flavours: “We want to share with our guests an experience of peacefulness and relaxation in a special setting,” explain Annick and Yves. This hotel with 17 rooms, a wellness centre and swimming pool also has an excellent restaurant. This makes it a perfect stopover to make the most of the charms of the Seine-Maritime department. RELAXATION AND WELLNESS AT THE HOTEL
The Hotel Château du Landel, The Originals Relais has a magnificent outdoor heated swimming pool (open from May to September) as well as a wellness centre where you can relax and recharge your batteries during your stay. WANDER AROUND ROUEN’S OLD TOWNWander around Rouen’s old town and enjoy the atmosphere of its picturesque narrow streets. They are lined with delightful timer-frame houses from the 15th and 17th centuries. Not forgetting the religious architecture with two Gothic gems, Saint-Maclou and Saint-Ouen churches, and the strange Aître Saint-Maclou, one of the last signs of mass graves of medieval plague victims. The law courts are also worth seeing, a wonderful building from the early Renaissance.
CATHEDRAL OF SAINT PETER OF BEAUVAISThis is one of northern France’s masterpieces of Gothic art. A unique architectural ensemble with exceptional dimensions, the cathedral remains unfinished. Only the 12th-century chancel and the transept finished in 1550 have been built. The incredible vaults stand 48m high. The astronomical clock, built from 1865 to 1868 by Louis-Auguste Vérité, has 90,000 parts: 52 dials indicate different things such as the seasons, the length of days and nights...
17 minutes drive from Bézancourt and in the heart of the national forest, discover this Norman village, ranked among the most beautiful villages in France: Lyons-la-Forêt. You will love its half-timbered houses and pink bricks which attract many artists.
GIVERNYWorld famous thanks to the paintings of Claude Monet who lived and worked here from 1883 until his death in 1926, this Norman village will charm you with its churches and museums, including the Museum of Impressionism showing the best of this artistic movement.
GERBEROYIn Gerberoy in Picardie, 22 minutes from Bézancourt, you can walk along the paved streets of this commune named ‘one of the most beautiful villages in France’. It will fascinate you with its history, its coloured wood and cob houses and its flora.
What our customers say
"Excellent Hotel with Excellent food"
We had a charming comfortable room on the third floor with carefully chosen cosy decor. Our evening set menu meal was delicious. We had a lovely walk through the forest in the morning before departing. We also purchased some of the Chateau's homemade honey . This was a stopover for us on our way across France towards Cherbourg whilst avoiding Paris.
Very nice welcome, charming place, the hosts are really dedicated to customers' satisfaction, nice place to stay and rest. I highly recommend.
"Wonderful second visit"
We first visited Chateau du Landel in 2018, as a convenient place to stay a night on the way back to UK from more southern France. This time we especially selected to stay there because we had enjoyed the first visit so much. We were not disappointed. Once again we were welcomed, given a wonderful room, fed extremely well and left wishing we could have stayed longer. We were only able to stay one night in France, due to commitments in the UK and decided it was well worth the 2.5 hr journey to this Chateau. We were so glad we did.
Without doubt a fantastic experience, number one on our "where to stay in France", must not be missed and cannot wait to stay again...
We stayed for 3 nights in October, and although used the hotel pretty much as a base, the service and surroundings were excellent. The chateau is very quiet, and this is probably as much to do with when we stayed, but exactly what we were looking for. Authentic, beautifully decorated and extremely well maintained, but retaining a homely feel. Annick and Yves were very hands on in providing for us, whether during a warm welcome on arrival, conversations about our activities in the region or providing an excellent breakfast. I imagine their English is far better than called for during our visit, as they indulged me in practising my French as much as possible (always understanding with a smile when I got it wrong, but recognising that I could at least make myself understood). Apologies for not bringing the 'Soleil dans mes valises' (took me a little while to get that one) but the weather was perfect for our stay. Huge thanks....merci!
"Excellent and restful"
Made to feel welcome
"Just what we needed from the last stopover at the end of our motorcycle tour de France"
A beautiful old chateau in a blissfully quiet location with a very comfortable modern room and excellent food. great swim in the outdoor pool and a pleasant walk in the natural grounds before dinner. Very friendly staff.
"A wonderful stop on a long journey"
We arrived after 8 hours in the car and some 500 miles! This gorgeous old Chateau seems to belong to another time! Our budget rooms were small but perfectly met our needs. They were immaculately clean. Dudley our Jack Russell was welcomed as an honoured guest
"Charming and peaceful"
We slept one night but it was so peaceful with a charming area.
"Wonderful experience "
We had a wonderful stay at The Originals hotel. The manager was delightful and dedicated to providing an exceptional experience for us. I wish we could have stayed longer. I have recommended this establishment to our friends.
