The Domaine de Presle Saumur, The Originals Relais opened its doors in June 2018. The culmination of a personal project for Dominique and Jean who dreamt of setting out on a new professional adventure together. The old mill and hunting lodge belonging to Maréchal Maillé-Brézé (Cardinal de Richelieu's brother-in-law), which had already been converted into a hotel-restaurant just outside of Distré, was for sale. A 4 hectare park, old buildings with lots of character and great potential... "We didn't hesitate!" Compliance with standards, renovation of the 21 rooms and restaurant, decoration, clean-up of the park: in the span of 3 months, the 3 star is transformed. The charm and tranquillity are enchanting. The new chef Christophe's inventive and refined cuisine awakens the taste buds. The warm and friendly welcome by Dominique, Jean and their team adds the final touch. More than a stopover in the vicinity of Saumur, the Domaine de Presle Saumur, The Originals Relais is worth the detour.

The Domaine de Presle Saumur, The Originals Relais's 21 rooms are divided between the property's 2 main buildings: 7 superior rooms (including 2 suites) are located in the old hunting lodge; 14 comfort rooms are housed in the old mill, a one floor building allowing each one of them to enjoy a small terrace. Perfectly renovated and finding the right balance between ancient charm and modern decorative elements, all the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. They can accommodate families and mobility-impaired guests.

"Beautiful and comfortable"

Your hotel and the grounds are beautiful, and we wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy them more. We also found the beds extremely comfortable! The only thing we would have felt lacking for a longer stay was a stand-up shower, but for one night it was no problem.
