Anthony left his Parisian newsagent business in 2005 to start a new life as a countryside hotelier in Anet, Eure-et-Loir. This small town in Eure-et-Loir is mainly known for its chateau on which work began in 1547 so it could be used by King Henry II’s mistress Diane de Poitiers. Today, all that remains is the west wing modified in the seventeenth century (the two other sections of the building were destroyed during the Revolution), the entrance gate with its clock featuring a deer surrounding by four braying dogs, and the chapel. With its dome covered in trompe-l’œil boxes, this is a real architectural gem of the French Renaissance. To the left of the chateau, a funeral chapel holds Diane de Poitiers’ remains.
