"I have been working in the hotel and restaurant industry for 20 years. Initially, it was just a student job, but in the end, I stayed!" Mathieu smiles. From one position to another, this native of Lille has gained solid experience, eventually taking over the management of The Originals City, La Verrière a few years ago. This 3-star establishment, located in the Paris region in a small business area near Versailles, offers excellent amenities with 82 fully renovated rooms and a buffet restaurant with seasonal flavors. Its easy access and large parking area are also among its assets. After all these years, Mathieu still enjoys the contact with customers, the everyday variety, and the pleasure of meeting clients from around the world. "For a little background story, I wanted to work in vacation clubs, like Club Med, but in Lille, it's relatively lacking in vacation clubs!

THE CASTLE OF RAMBOUILLET

Princely, royal, and republican (did you know that more than half of the French Presidents have stayed here?), the Château de Rambouillet is a discreet gem that deserves a visit. Built during the Middle Ages, the building still retains a somewhat defensive aspect, softened by numerous modifications made over the centuries, including the latest ones by Napoleon I. Not to be missed: the park with its many exotic species brought back in the 18th century, the royal sheepfold (now National) with its Merino sheep, and let's not forget Marie-Antoinette's dairy, a gift from Louis XVI to his royal shepherdess.
