The director is proud of her hotel, its history (which began in 1880), its services, its loyal and sometimes famous guests. “The divine Sarah Bernhardt stayed here for a month, in August 1892. It was shortly before she discovered Belle-Île and decided to settle at the Pointe des Poulains,” Lisa explains. Since her visit, The Originals Relais, Grand Hôtel Abbatial has undergone a few changes. Notably during the interwar period, when two floors were added to meet the booming tourist demand that Bénodet was enjoying. Today, the 4-star establishment offers 51 rooms and 3 seminar rooms.

A swimming pool completes the offer, though being outdoors, it only welcomes courageous swimmers between June and September. Lovers of great sailors will appreciate being able to admire a splendid model of the Pen Duick 6, as well as an oilskin signed by its legendary skipper, Eric Tabarly.
