The charm of Brittany. Originality and authenticity. Delight and elegance. Welcome to Catherine and Olivier Sergeant's hotel.
“Our country house is both an invitation to travel and enjoy the pleasure of life.”
In Quimper, the country home of the famous Breton sailor and adventurer, René Madec, is now a charming 4-star hotel. But, thanks to Catherine and Olivier, the Manoir des Indes, The Originals Relais has never lost its soul. Because the current owners have created an atypical and surprising place, in tribute to René Madec who, in the eighteenth century, went to India, received the title of Nabob from the Grand Mughal, then returned to build his château in Brittany. The country home now houses 14 rooms and 2 suites with exotic décor and Far Eastern ambience. All wrapped in elegance and refinement. With its fixed price menu, pool and spa, this hotel invites you to enjoy the pleasure of life in Brittany.
Their names evoke the antipodes, travel and exoticism: Siam, Vanikoro, Samoa, Bougainville, Macao, Le Repaire du Nabab, Les Grands Moghols… The 14 rooms and 2 junior suites, measuring from 20 to 45 m2, combine the authenticity of raw wood, exposed beams and tiles with a twist of modernity. The cherry on top is the beautiful size of the spaces. They are each an invitation to enjoy a sense of well-being and rest, travel and change of scenery.
- Non smoking room
The country house has a fixed price offering. Olivier, also a chef, creates recipes that combine tradition and originality, and combine local produce with a touch of exoticism. As part of your stay, you will have the opportunity to dine by candlelight on the beautiful patio. And to start your day, Catherine and Olivier offer you a breakfast buffet on the patio or in your room.
RELAXATION AND WELLNESS AT THE HOTEL
The hotel is home to a superb wellness and relaxation area. It is located in the basement, in magnificent vaulted cellars. Here you will find massage and relaxation rooms and a mysterious and fascinating swimming pool, like the Turkish baths of Budapest and the ancient baths. The wellness area has a swimming pool and sauna. You will also benefit from body treatments and massages with essential oils provided by a team of professionals.
QUIMPERA stroll in Quimper will allow you to discover a beautiful Finistère city. Especially in the historic district that stretches across the Saint-Corentin cathedral, in flamboyant Gothic style, between Odet and Steir. This tributary, channelled and covered upstream of its confluence, offers a vast pedestrian zone. You will see the most beautiful Renaissance houses around Rue Kéréon.
POINTE DU RAZ AND USHANTLocated at the western end of Cornouaille, this rocky outcrop sinks into the menacing Raz de Sein that “no one has passed without fear or pain”. It is an exceptional site classified as a Grand Site of France. Offshore is the island of Ushant and the beautiful Côte Sauvage. A landscape that has been shredded and beaten by the sea whose rocks offer an extraordinary show. To learn more about the island, visit the island Ecomuseum, the Créac'h lighthouse and the environmental study centre.
FOUESNANT-GLENAN ISLANDSFamous for its cider and its headdress, the largest resort in Finistère is in the centre of one of the greenest regions of Brittany. It is however its coast and, especially, its nautical centre which give it its reputation. From Cap-Coz to the tip of Mousterlin, huge white beaches facing south alternate with small coves, while an hour away by boat, the Glénans archipelago offers escape and scenery in a paradise setting.
What our customers say
Friendly professionals excellent spa facilities and great rooms
We are a family of four children är 19 and 17 years old. The room we stayed was perfect and we love it. It was spacious I love the design and furnitures. You feel like you were somewhere in Asia. The hotel grounds and surroundings was very big. Nice and quiet place to stay if you want to be away from all the noise and traffic. No problem with parking. Access to the pool was a big plus and we we were able to take advantage of it. I love so much gardens flowers and plants and would have appreciated more if they were well attended. Otherwise everything with our visit was very good and we were all satisfied and happy. Would easily come back here if there’s a chance.
