In Quimper, the country home of the famous Breton sailor and adventurer, René Madec, is now a charming 4-star hotel. But, thanks to Catherine and Olivier, the Manoir des Indes, The Originals Relais has never lost its soul. Because the current owners have created an atypical and surprising place, in tribute to René Madec who, in the eighteenth century, went to India, received the title of Nabob from the Grand Mughal, then returned to build his château in Brittany. The country home now houses 14 rooms and 2 suites with exotic décor and Far Eastern ambience. All wrapped in elegance and refinement. With its fixed price menu, pool and spa, this hotel invites you to enjoy the pleasure of life in Brittany.

The country house has a fixed price offering. Olivier, also a chef, creates recipes that combine tradition and originality, and combine local produce with a touch of exoticism. As part of your stay, you will have the opportunity to dine by candlelight on the beautiful patio. And to start your day, Catherine and Olivier offer you a breakfast buffet on the patio or in your room.

LE PATIO

Meals are provided by So! Traiteur which Olivier directs. The latter has studied his craft with great chefs, Alain Chapel among others, and in major French gastronomy houses, such as La Tour d'Argent, before settling in Brittany and letting his creativity flourish. Olivier offers you an excellent foie gras terrine with pommeau and red wine onion jam, a succulent filet of fennel roasted bar, tomato confit and seasonal garnishes or pan-fried scallops and their salmon tartare with beetroot.

"Peaceful stay"

I very peaceful location. However, more attention should be given to cleanliness in the room and the bathroom shower smelled of sewer backup.

Located at the western end of Cornouaille, this rocky outcrop sinks into the menacing Raz de Sein that “no one has passed without fear or pain”. It is an exceptional site classified as a Grand Site of France. Offshore is the island of Ushant and the beautiful Côte Sauvage. A landscape that has been shredded and beaten by the sea whose rocks offer an extraordinary show.
