An unforgettable stay in an exceptional building. Welcome to Yann and Christine Christiansen's hotel.
“The tradition of French hotel management with a personal touch that we have maintained for generations.”
The medieval town of Vaison-la-Romaine with its little streets is worth a visit! Yann admits “You need to bear in mind that access to the hotel is via narrow winding streets and also the free parking only has very few spaces.” But as he explains “the whole team will always be ready to help you!” Exploring the unusual setting of the Hostellerie Le Beffroi, The Originals Relais is really worth the effort... Set on top of a rock dominating the town, this 3-star hotel with 22 rooms consists of several 16th and 17th century houses and has maintained this feel with the furniture, spiral staircases (don’t expect a lift) and arrow slits. “We are continuing the tradition of French hotel management with a personal touch that my family has maintained since 1904,” explains Yann. Time may have been suspended here but the services are very modern.
The Hostellerie Le Beffroi, The Originals Relais’s rooms are split between the residence’s two historic buildings (from the 16th and 17th centuries) and make best use of the existing structures. An unusual setting and a journey in time are guaranteed in each of the 22 rooms, all of them different, all wonderfully combining modern comfort and traditional charm with red hexagonal floor tiles, large carpets, French-style ceilings, rustic furniture, etc.

VAISON-LA-ROMAINEVaison La Romaine, a real symbol of Provence, has an extremely well preserved and rich heritage. As its name suggests, it is best known for its Roman remains including a single-span bridge over the Ouvèze. Don’t miss the cathedral with its cloister and the Medieval quarter, surrounded by the Roman city walls made from stones. There are no cars here, but small cobbled lanes (these lanes are known as ‘calades’). If you are feeling brave enough you can climb up to the old castle. It is not an easy climb but the panoramic view from Mont Ventoux, among others, is worth it.
THINGS TO SEE NEARBYThe unmissable Mont Ventoux, the sunrise is really memorable if you are an early riser. The village of Crestet, nestled at the foot of its castle since 860, which you can reach by foot following the Chemin des Fontaines path through vineyards and forests. Séguret, which is considered one of the most beautiful villages in France. Toulourenc Valley and its gorges, considered one of the most beautiful swimming spots in Provence. Orange with its antique theatre and its arc de triomphe. Avignon with the Pope’s palace. The Ardèche gorges.
What our customers say
"Beautiful place - excellent service"
My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Beffroi, and we even were so lucky, that we could extend our stay with an extra night. From the hostellerie in the old town (haute ville) there is a marvelous view from the rooms, the dinner terrace and the swimming pool. Fantastic roman ruins in the town at the foot of the hill .
"Hospitality, atmosphere and charactere"
