The timeless charm of Brittany, the salty Atlantic air, and a warm welcome. Welcome to Nolwenn and Tanguy Corre's hotel.
“We took up the baton, because this is a family hotel in the place we have lived all our lives, and it’s our passion.”
Nolwenn and Tanguy were born here on Pointe Saint-Mathieu, an iconic Finistère location, and have lived here ever since. Their grandparents founded the Hostellerie Pointe Saint-Mathieu, The Originals Collection. Nolwenn and Tanguy have loved it since childhood, and are still madly in love with it now. This charming four-star hotel in Brittany sits in the heart of a unique, wild, enchanting environment: at Plougonvelin, near Brest, the natural landscape is breathtakingly beautiful. Nolwenn and Tanguy have made it into a cosy, elegant hotel which blends tradition with modernity and has managed to retain its soul. A beautiful setting with 33 contemporary rooms, two restaurants and a spa. An ideal place to enjoy Brittany’s gentle way of life.

- RELAXATION AND WELLNESS AT THE HOTEL
“Our rooms are contemporary in design. They have superb views over the Iroise Sea, the lighthouse, or the abbey at Pointe Saint-Mathieu”, explains Nolwenn. “This is a peaceful haven sheltered from the winds and the ocean”, adds Tanguy. The 33 rooms are particularly comfortable and spacious. Their pared-back design “lets the landscape in”, explain the Corre siblings. With suites of 21 to over 35 m2, these living spaces are conducive to rest and relaxation. They are perfect for couples, friends, families and work colleagues, and three of them are suitable for people with reduced mobility.
- Non smoking room
The hotel has a gourmet restaurant and a “bistro” named Bistro 1954, which looks out to sea and seats 70 in a warm, relaxed atmosphere. The vibe is definitely contemporary, with fresh cuisine which gives pride of place to seafood. Nolwenn and Tanguy provide a generous breakfast to get your day off to a good start. They’ve chosen superb local products for you, including delicious yoghurts from the Ker ar Beleg farm in Tréouergat. And, last but not least, the hotel has a pleasant, sociable bar.
The hotel offers an “end of the world” experience in a legendary region of Finistère. Brittany’s western tip harbours unspoilt nature and hidden treasures.
LE CONQUET AND PLOUGONVELINLe Conquet, the port at the end of the world, is renowned for the quality of its fishing catches, rich in the finest fish and shellfish such as monkfish, ray, crab and the tourteau brown crabs which are the symbol of the town. The city is full of narrow streets winding their way down to the quayside. You can take a return trip from the coast to the nearby islands, and treat yourself to an excursion to Ouessant or Molène. Closer to the hotel, Plougonvelin has some surprises in store such as the Bertheaume fort, high up on a little island which is linked to the mainland by a small footbridge. It was fortified by Vauban in the 17th century.
THE CROZON PENINSULAThe Crozon peninsula, at the heart of the legendary lands of Finistère’s central tip, is captivating. Don’t miss the pink caves at the seaside resort of Morgat, and the ruins of Saint-Guénolé abbey and of the Vauban tower at Camaret-sur-Mer, a Unesco World Heritage site. Over at Ladatjar stand 87 menhirs, each more than 3 m tall. And on Pointe de Pen Hir, a series of striking rocks known as the “heaps of peas” make their way out to sea. Don’t miss the chance to view the coastline from the top of the cliffs at Pointe des Espagnols.
RELAXATION AND WELLNESS AT THE HOTELThe hotel has a wellness area and a spa with an indoor heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, massage rooms, and more. It’s the ideal place to relax at any time of day. Spa Carita offers bespoke treatments dedicated to beauty for the body and face, in the soothing, refined atmosphere of the four massage rooms.
What our customers say
Beautiful views! Wonderful food! Super service!
We enjoyed a lot the stay. Perfect Atlantic view. Very helpful and nice service. We plan to come once more...
"Get away from it all"
Lovely place to stay with cliff walks, museum (amazing) and a bit of piece and quiet. Hotel good, staff friendly and attentive. Room with lighthouse view and plenty of storage and haning space. Restaurant closed but Bistro open and very good. Really enjoyed our time there and will probably visit again when in that area. At €16 the breakfast should have been better.
"a few days at the end of the world"
We had a lovely time in your hotel and restaurant.
"Magnificent St. Matthieu experience "
We were so fortunate to stay one night at the hotel at St. Matthieu. We enjoyed the sauna and hot tub and the peaceful setting after our long journey! Both restaurants were great...breakfast and lunch at the Bistro and an unforgettably wonderful dinner in the gastronomic restaurant! We also really enjoyed hiking around the beautiful coastline adjacent to the hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back if we ever get the opportunity!
In an idyllic setting, with views out to sea, the hotel provides a number of fully equipped, modular seminar rooms.
