Enchantingly idyllic surroundings. The beauty of the Vendée. Peace, quiet, and the good life. Welcome to Véronique and Philippe Roger’s hotel.
“We have many years of experience working in hotels, and we use this knowledge to make sure our guests receive the very best possible service”.
According to Véronique and Philippe, “a large part of our success is down to the hotel’s exceptional location”. However, the couple have been running hotel-restaurants for over 30 years: it’s not just the idyllic surroundings of The Originals City, Hotel Le Moulin Neuf, La Roche-sur-Yon East that make it what it is. Their elegant 3-star hotel and its 60 bedrooms is located in Chantonnay, in the Vendée, near La Roche-sur-Yon, with its reflection glimmering back at it from the calm waters of the Grand Lay lake. The setting is wildly romantic. But Véronique and Robert set just as much store by hospitality and comfort, and do all they can to make their guests’ stay as pleasant as possible. Its pool and restaurant make this hotel the perfect place to sit back, relax, and enjoy all that the Vendée has to offer.
The 60 rooms at The Originals City, Hotel Le Moulin Neuf, La Roche-sur-Yon East can each accommodate between 1 and 4 people. Three are specially equipped for guests with reduced mobility. With a minimum size of 15m2, some also come with a balcony looking out over the lake. All are contemporary, modern, and relaxing. These are functional, comfortable rooms.

The hotel, which has its own restaurant, also enjoys a vast terrace overlooking the lake, where you can order light bites as well as more substantial meals during the afternoons and evenings. The hotel bar also awaits for a spot of relaxation at the end of the day. And, to start your day right, Véronique and Philippe offer a buffet breakfast, served at the bar out on the superb terrace.
The hotel enjoys a perfect location in the Vendée, 50 km from the Atlantic and 30 minutes from the famous Puy du Fou theme park, making it an ideal base from which to explore this fantastic area.
WELLNESS AT THE HOTELBetween trips out around the region or business meetings, enjoy a moment of relaxation in the hotel’s covered, heated pool. It is open from April through to October, and has a retractable roof. The hotel sauna is also a fabulous place to unwind.
PUY DU FOUNot far from the hotel, Puy du Fou sits in the bocage of the Vendée department, near Les Herbiers and Cholet. If you like spectacular historical re-enactments, cavalcades, animals running wild, special effects and magical surroundings, then a visit to Puy du Fou during your stay here is a must! An extraordinary voyage through time, from antiquity through to the 1900s. Don’t miss the must-visit sound and light extravaganza that is the Cinéscénie.
POITEVIN MARSHSince it’s so close to the hotel, why not go and explore Poitevin Marsh? Listed as a Grand Site de France since 2012, and a Grand Site d’exception, Poitevin Marsh is the second largest area of marshland in France, after the Camargue. You can explore it by boat, following a 4,000-km network of waterways, by bike, along the 800 km of cycle routes, or on foot, along the marshes bordered by poplars and willow trees... The wet marshland and its labyrinth of channels provide a stark contrast to the vast flat expanses of the dry marsh leading to the sea.
The hotel's verdant, romantic setting is also home to 5 fully-equipped conference and meeting rooms, which can accommodate between 20 and 150 people.
Between 15 and 25 people can fit comfortably into this 27-m2 meeting room. It can be arranged in a U-shape, theatre-style, rectangle or classroom layout, depending on your needs.
