A charming hotel on the Vilaine river. The calm of the countryside in a town. Renowned cuisine. Welcome to Aude Goualin's hotel.
“A sense of hospitality, sharing, meeting people; offering modern services in an old setting.”
The entrance from the street is discreet. A simple passage between two walls from where you can barely make out the 3 floors of the former Cesson-Sevigné mill on the Vilaine river. However, it is a renowned place. Particularly for its food, which has 2 forks in the Michelin Guide. A source of pride for Aude, the current owner, whose great grandfather Louis Goualin bought the mill in 1927. “It was my father, also called Louis, who turned the mill into a hotel-restaurant in the 70s.” Having decided to follow in his footsteps, Aude studied hospitality “with a sommelier qualification” says the young woman who gladly shares recommendations with guests. The Hotel The Originals Le Germinal restaurant is renowned and so is the hotel due to the comfort and services provided in its 17 rooms including 4 suites with a stylish charm. A rural, romantic and preserved setting.
The Le Germinal, The Originals Relais’s 17 rooms, including 4 suites, provide many more strong points. All of them look out onto the Vilaine river with its calm and rural setting. They are all spacious and provide cosy comfort. They have all been recently renovated in a simple and meticulous style. They can all be accessed by a lift. And they all promise you restful nights in a charming residence.

Welcome to one of the region’s best restaurants. With 2 forks in the Michelin guide, the Le Germinal, The Originals Relais restaurant serves sophisticated cuisine, majestically presented and fine tasting, mostly consisting of seafood. The setting of the 3 dining rooms, with light walls and a mix of sophisticated contemporary furniture and old furniture, provides an elegant ambiance. Wide bay windows look out onto the rural countryside on the banks of the Vilaine river. In the summer the best place to eat is on the wooden terrace which juts out into the water like the bow of a ship. Order dinner here or take your breakfast out after helping yourself from the generous buffet.
