A charming little hotel in Lorient town centre, close to all local amenities. Fabien Avised welcomes you to her hotel.
“The art of genuine hospitality.”
Fabien’s story is that of a complete career change - of switching from the world of mass retail to the hotel business. “I started out in 2015 by becoming the owner and manager of the Hotel The Originals Lorient Cléria. Mine is an exciting, multi-faceted profession, which now allows me to deliver service to my guests.” His hotel is a five-minute walk from Lorient’s bus and train stations, in the Lorient city centre. Its small, leafy, enclosed patio is a big plus. In this recently renovated three-star establishment, the patina of the updated antique furniture in the communal areas blends harmoniously with the 33 elegant, individually decorated rooms. A warm, friendly accommodation place where Fabien takes pleasure in the art of entertaining.
With their soft, natural tones and emphasis on wood, each of the 33 recently renovated rooms at the Hotel The Originals Lorient Cléria has its own distinct décor, but the atmosphere is always soft and warm. Spacious without being over-large, they are nonetheless comfortable, well appointed and fully equipped. Families can enjoy connecting rooms with space for up to 4 people. The hotel’s three floors are served by a lift.

Make yourself comfortable in the pretty dining room at the Hotel The Originals Lorient Cléria. Its vanilla-coffee colour theme and elegant décor are the perfect foil for the patina of the updated antique furniture. It’s a warm, pleasant place to get your day off to a good start at the superb breakfast buffet, which is both plentiful and varied. You can also enjoy your breakfast out of doors on the patio if you so wish. For your evening meal, the many restaurants nearby cater for all tastes and budgets.
In the heart of South Brittany, where the countryside meets the coast, le Morbihan boasts a wide variety of landscapes and amenities offering opportunities for exploration and leisure. Whether you’re spending a weekend here, or several days, the Hotel The Originals Lorient Cléria will make a superb base as you explore the region.
LORIENTL’Orient came into being in 1666, when the East India Company created by Colbert two years previously based itself in Port-Louis. In the subsequent decades, a new town emerged on the opposite bank of the Blavet, and was named Lorient under the Revolution. Owned for many years by the Navy, the town retains a strong military heritage. Sites well worth visiting include the Flore S645 submarine with its museum, and the submarine museum where, guided by experts in diving and history, you’ll discover a fascinating simulator built in 1942 to train submariners. Lorient is a town with six ports: military, fishing, commercial, passenger, a marina, and one for ocean racing, which you can learn about by visiting the Cité de la Voile Eric Tabarly interactive sailing museum. Lorient also holds the famous Festival Interceltique, the international meeting place for Celtic artists.
THINGS TO SEE NEARBYBy the sea: the small sea of Gâvres, a true natural paradise surrounded by the ribbon of dunes of the Groix peninsula, a jewel of the region. In the countryside: the lush, green valleys of the Blavet and the Scorff, the Laïta estuary. Hennebont, the guardian of history, the zoo at Pont-Scorff, and Port-Louis with the East India Company museum, Quistinic and the village of Poul Fetan will delight fans of history and crafts. Not forgetting the Ploemeur Océan and Val Quéven golf courses.

"Jims Inter-Celtique trip"
Lovely small hotel. Ideal location for train station and town centre. Lots of nice restaurants near by. Lovely staff. Very attentive. This was a peak season booking so expect to pay more during the Celtic Festival. If I stayed again I would ask for a bigger room. Very tight space. Walk sideways to get round the bottom of the bed.
"Excellent stay in Lorient!"
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. The hotel staff members were wonderful especially on the night of the France-Germany semi-final in Euro 2016 the gentleman at the front desk helped us find a good restaurant since many were closed due to the game. Such a great value!!
