Get ready to experience the vibrancy of Rennes, the warmth of the welcome, and the art of living in the Breton capital. Welcome to Marielle Boulard's hotel.
"Friendliness is everything here! That, along with the well-being of my guests and my team, is my top priority”.
“My motivation is interacting with my guests, and that special bond that you create with regulars, or those who stay for several nights,” says Marielle. And the ambiance at The Originals City, Hotel Le Sévigné, Rennes Station is, first and foremost, a friendly one. Manager Marielle has made her 3-star Rennes hotel into a living space with a “family feel”: “guests will feel right at home here,” she adds. A bonus for a hotel perfectly located just a short walk from Rennes station, right in the heart of the Breton capital. Despite this, Marielle is keen to emphasise that "it's still a peaceful and cosy hotel”. This is why the 44 elegant rooms have been made into proper little ‘cocoons’ of cosiness: perfect for rest and relaxation.
The hotel has 44 rooms which can accommodate between 2 and 4 people. “We have gone for décor which is understated and elegant,” says Marielle, who has used stylish accents to add pops of colour: “all our Rennes hotel rooms feature Kartell chairs”. Contemporary style, a cosy feel, and little details give these rooms a certain charm. Not to mention the fact that Marielle has not forgotten all the essentials needed for a comfortable stay. For example, all the rooms looking onto Avenue Janvier have been fitted with triple-glazing. “And one of our ultra-comfortable rooms has also been equipped for guests with reduced mobility” .
- Non smoking room
- Air-conditioned room
- Room service
Every morning, Marielle offers a “Breton-style breakfast”. “We really want guests to discover all the delicious things that our wonderful region has to offer,” she explains. The apple juice, dairy products, bread, jam and butter of our Rennes accommodation are all sourced from regional suppliers. It is all served buffet-style or as a continental breakfast which is served in guests’ rooms at no extra charge.
Near Rennes, this hotel allows you to enjoy Brittany.
ENJOYING RENNESWith its student population of 60,000, the capital city of the Brittany region is a vibrant and bustling city with a strong cultural focus. Rennes also has incredible architectural heritage with its medieval streets, such as the Rue Saint-Sauveur and Rue Saint-Guillaume (home to Ti Koz), the Rue de la Psalette and Rue du Chapitre (where guests can find the Hôtel de Brie and Hôtel de Blossac stately homes), and Rue Saint-Yves and Rue des Dames (for the Hôtel Freslon de la Freslonnière stately home). The Parlement of Brittany and the Brittany Museum are also well worth a visit.
WANDERS IN VITRÉGo back in time with a trip to Vitré, only 40 minutes away from Rennes. This magnificent town is home to ramparts and alleyways that have remained practically unchanged for almost 5 centuries. On the frontier between France and Brittany, the ancient “walled town” features an iconic moment in the form of its fortified castle, which has several medieval military architectural features including a drawbridge, a castellum flanked by two machicolations, a keep (or the Tour Saint-Laurent) and a number of other towers (such as Madeleine and Montafilant).
REDON AND PAYS DE VILAINEThe scenery changes to the south of Rennes, towards Redon. Take a gentle cruise down the Vilaine river to appreciate its lush green meanders, timeless locks, flower-filled villages and charming little river ports. You could also go and explore areas of natural beauty, such as the wooded valley of Corbinières, the cliffs of the Île-aux-Pies, and the Gannedel marshes at La Chapelle-de-Brain. Not to mention the historic city and key inland port of Redon.
