The Originals City Hôtel du PAarc

Playing an active role in the economic development of their region, that’s what motivated Stéphanie and Richard when they set out to build a brand-new hotel in Gravelines, at the heart of the PAarc watersports and leisure complex. A true economic engine and green lung of the Dunkirk area, the site, whose unusual spelling comes from the Aa river, had until then lacked suitable accommodation for both business and leisure guests. Since spring 2026, that gap has been filled. Rated 3 stars and offering 48 rooms, The Originals City, Hôtel du PAarc now stretches its contemporary lines along the city’s rowing lake. Its white façade, enhanced with light wood cladding, blends seamlessly into the surrounding greenery. A place for relaxation, work, and gastronomy alike, the hotel features two seminar rooms and a bistronomic restaurant celebrating local flavours.

Dining

The Originals City, Hôtel du PAarc, Gravelines

Welcome to the restaurant at The Originals City, Hôtel du PAarc. Located on the second floor, on the rooftop, it offers exceptional views over the long rowing lake of Gravelines. A source of inspiration for the breakfast buffet, which stretches out just as generously, offering guests a wide array of morning flavours: cheeses, apple juice, jams, honey, herb-infused ham… Local produce takes pride of place.
The same commitment guides the restaurant service, which showcases regional specialties (carbonade, waterzooi…). “Tradition in a contemporary version,” Richard explains.

Restaurant Du PAarc

Of course, there’s the view. But above all, there’s the menu. A chic brasserie-style cuisine, local, fresh, and seasonal. “Our philosophy: to celebrate our grandmothers’ recipes, reinterpreted with precision and lightness.”
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.

Ancient stone fortress and river in Cité Vauban at The Originals City Hotel du Parc Gravelines.

Tips from your hotelier

Cité Vauban

A fortified military town built in a star-shaped layout? No doubt about it, Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban, the brilliant military engineer of Louis XIV, left his mark here. Although the site’s military purpose has long since been abandoned, it remains well worth a visit. Here, ancient stonework and lush greenery coexist in perfect harmony: public gardens laid out within the bastions or around former military buildings, vegetable plots lining the ramparts’ patrol path, and even the chance to discover the fortifications from the water aboard bacôves, the region’s traditional boats.

The Beffroi

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005, the Beffroi de Gravelines dates back to the 19th century. A relatively recent structure, yet one rooted in a much older tradition: as early as the Middle Ages, modest wooden towers were used to watch over the surrounding area and to communicate between different branches of the municipal administration through the ringing of bells. A symbol of former civic power and municipal autonomy, the Belfry of Gravelines rises to a height of 27 metres. It is open to visitors during the summer, for the European Heritage Days, and during the Fortified Spaces weekend.

Tips from your hotelier

Dunkirk

Vast beaches, a rich maritime heritage, a city scarred by World War II, a truly unique atmosphere, and a legendary sense of hospitality… Dunkirk, the pearl of Flanders, is all that and so much more!
A city of art with the LAAC, the FRAC, and the CIAC, the Saint-Eloi belfry, the charming old villas of Saint-Malo-les-Bains, and the Excentric district with its surreal, boldly creative architecture.
And of course, we can’t forget THE most festive carnival in the North, built on four pillars: herring, parades, balls, and outrageously colorful costumes!

Calais

Calais is known for its famous Burghers (standing proudly at the foot of the Town Hall), its lace (don’t miss the stunning International City of Lace and Fashion), the great ferries you can watch from the beach, and of course, its bêtises, those sweets whose name amuses as much as their flavor delights. But the most populous city in Pas-de-Calais is also home to a Fine Arts Museum, the century-old trees of Saint-Pierre Park, and a 72-ton, fire-breathing dragon, 12 meters tall and 25 meters long, that roams the city at a leisurely 4 km/h…
