"Friendly Staff, good location...."

"Brief stopover "

We had a single night stopover en route to Issoire. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and able to recommend places for food and drink locally. The breakfast was excellent and sufficiently varied to cater for most needs. We would recommend the hotel.

"Very nice stay"

From check-in to check-out we enjoyed our stay. Room nicely decorated, with all necesary ammenities, good lighting and well working shower and toilet. The receptionist also recommended an excellent nearby restaurant.

"A small, comfortable hotel in Central Limoge, but car parking is very limited."

We arrived to find the hotel had only 2 free and secure car park spaces, which were already full, not surprisingly. The streets nearby have free parking, but it is totally full of local cars, who are avoiding paying in the open car parks, which are several minutes walk from the hotel - a potential problem if you have much luggage. The hotel staff are charming and helpful, there is a small, 2 person lift as well as stairs to upper floors. The rooms are comfortable, have plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space and a useful en-suite bathroom and toilet. Breakfast is uncooked but pleasant and has variety. Once we had parked the car, we had a pleasant stay.

"Lovely hotel. Ideal situation to explore Limoges. "

The hotel is very clean and tidy and the room well appointed. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was very good with a wide range of food to suit all appetites. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

EXPLORING LIMOGES

Limoges is best known for being the capital of porcelain. It's also home to other wonders, such as the episcopal city around the cathedral. Visitors can also explore the upper city, the lively shopping district in the former Château des Vicomtes quarter, built on the neighbouring slope around Saint-Martial abbey. With its student population, Limoges is full of energy and attractive stores which unfurl along the streets and the built-up banks of the Vienne – a great place to wander.

WANDER AROUND VASSIVIERE LAKE

One hour from Limoges, Beaumont-du-Lac is home to the wonderful Vassivière Lake. In the centre of this 1000-hectare artificial lake, Vassivière Island plays host to the International Art and Landscape Centre. It's accessible on foot or via the little train. The walk over the bridge offers views of both sides of the lake. All in an idyllic wooded hill setting. A walking trail accessible to mountain bikers follows the banks of the lake.
