Our hotel in Dieffenthal has 26 double and triple rooms and 4 quadruples as well as 2 double rooms for handicapped guests. All are extremely charming with high quality materials, soft or sparkling colours, and an elegant and traditional style. The ambiance is cosy and welcoming. “We want our guests to feel at ease, have space, be able to relax and enjoy the view over the Alsatian vineyard or Haut-Koenigsbourg castle,” explains Isabelle. Some rooms have a balcony and all have a “charming spirit” she continues.

An extremely friendly and welcoming place, Le Verger des Châteaux, The Originals Relais has a Dieffenthal restaurant which cooks up regional cuisine. The hotel also has La Winstub, a pleasant bar where you can relax over a drink and something to eat with colleagues or friends. And you can begin discovering the regional flavours from breakfast time. A buffet breakfast is served in the dining room or out on the terrace. "wunderschönes Hotel leider mit Hausdrachen"

Die Zimmer waren wunderschön und sauber, das männliche Personal und der Service beim Nachtessen wie auch die Reception stehts freundlich. Leider war der Hausdrache am Frühstücksbuffet, genervt von den Kunden sehr unfreundlich… wenn das die 1. Begegnung des Tages im Urlaub ist, fängt der Tag nicht wirklich gut an… am schlimmsten fand ich jedoch wie diese Person (ältere Frau) mit den freundlichen Kollegen umgegangen ist. Sie hat Jeremy durch den ganzen Saal angeschriehen! vor den Gösten!

VISIT STRASBOURG

A trip to Strasbourg always includes the famous Notre Dame cathedral, a real masterpiece of Gothic art. Built between 1015 and 1439, in pink sandstone from Vosges, this cathedral has a remarkable façade and a 142m spire. The view over Strasbourg from the platform at 66m is stunning. Especially the La Petite France district, one of the best preserved of old Strasbourg. Take a mini-cruise along the canals, the scenery is incredible romantic. Boat trips set out from Rohan pier.

TRIP TO COLMAR

Some call it the ‘Little Venice’. Because Colmar can be visited on foot or by boat on the canals. But with its fountains and half-timbered houses, Colmar remains symbolic of a postcard image of Alsace... The town offers wonderful surprises such as Unterlinden or Bartholdi museums. In the town centre you can see the House of Heads (built in the early 17th century) which owes its name to the 111 heads adorning its façade, or the Pfister house, a beautiful Bourgeois building from Renaissance times but with medieval design.

THE ALSACE WINE ROUTE

Opened in 1953, the Alsace wine route is one of the oldest of its kind in France. This route winds for 170km from Marlenheim in the north to Thann in the south of the region. It crosses through 70 wine-growing villages renowned for being the most beautiful villages in Alsace. You can discover the fortified towns and villages of Eguisheim, Kaysersberg, Ribeauvillé, Riquewihr, Andlau, Obernai... If you wish to hike through the vineyards there are around fifty signposted wine footpaths which allow you to discover all the secrets of the most prestigious vineyards.
