Day 1: Bordeaux

Heading inland, we'll travel 125 kilometres to Bordeaux, capital of wine country. If you're feeling tired, you might just want to relax with a glass of delicious local wine - but try to find the energy to explore the city. Bordeaux is famous for its gothic cathedral, reflecting pool, and numerous art museums. 

The Originals Access, Hotel Bordeaux Lake is ideally located for a sunset walk around the lake before turning in for the night.

Day 2: Bayonne et Biarritz

On Day 2, you'll be driving 200km to reach the Basque Country. Surfers love Biarritz, but you might just want to admire the views from the top of the Rocher de la Vierge. In nearby Bayonne, check out the medieval streets of the Grand Bayonne district and visit the Musée Basque to learn more about the region.  we're staying on the coast as we head 75 kilometres south to Royan. Get an early start, as there's plenty to see and do in this seaside town.

Beach lovers will be thrilled by La Grande Conche, which stretches for 2 kilometres of pure white sand. Don't miss the postwar architecture which makes this one of the most modern stops on our west coast of France road trip. Enjoy Hotel Laminak, The Originals Relais a charming and peaceful hotel with a heated pool to end your day perfectly.

Day 3: Pau

Head 125km inland to find one of the hidden gems of South West France, the city of Pau. In this mountainous city, you'll explore a completely different landscape. Take a walk along the Boulevard des Pyrénées for spectacular views, or enjoy a trip in the Funicular.The Originals Boutique, Villa Montpensier,an oasis of calm and joy from the midst of the city.

Day 4: Lourdes

Today's drive is a pleasant 40km, which will take you to the town of Lourdes, famous as a pilgrimage destination. The Massabielle Grotto is the local highlight; even if you're not religious, this sanctuary is beautiful and worth visiting. Afterwards, take the funicular up Pic du Jer for the best views in the area. 

Day 5: Agen

Today you'll be covering 165km to reach Agen, where you'll find something for everyone. The Museum of Fine Arts is packed full of stunning masterpieces, including some beautiful works by Goya. If you're more into thrills, then head to the Walibi Sud-Oest theme park and hop onto the rollercoasters! 

Day 6: Bergerac

Now we're heading back north! Bergerac, 250km from Pau, is back in the wine region. You may want to check out the Maison des Vins to learn about the local tradition of wine-making. Alternatively, just relax and watch the barges floating lazily down the Dordogne River. Spend the night in the blissfully chilled The Originals City, Hôtel de Bordeaux, Bergerac before getting up for your last day on the road!

Day 7: Sarlat-la-Canéda

On our last day, we'll be driving just 75km to reach Sarlat-la-Canéda. This medieval town feels like a trip back in time, with its beautiful cathedral and the Lanterne des Morts.
