Nature, history and the sea. Charm and warmth. Hospitality and tranquillity. Welcome to Hélène and Loïc Savariau’s hotel.
“What we would like is to suspend time to share a unique experience in a unique place. ”
It is facing the sea, in a city steeped in history, that Hélène and Luc welcome you. And they have made their 3-star hotel, the Hotel Les Villas d'Arromanches, The Originals Relais, a haven of peace with timeless charm. Perched on the heights of Arromanches-les-Bains, in a small wooded corner, these two elegant nineteenth century villas are home to 28 comfortable and original rooms. “The atmosphere of an Anglo-Norman house reigns here,” say Hélène and Luc. The couple knew how to give the places a particular elegance and character. Especially since this 3 Star Hotel in Calvados has a delicious lounge bar dedicated to regional flavours.
- BAYEUX CATHEDRAL
- BAYEUX TAPESTRY
The 28 marine-style rooms, with a family home or Norman mansion atmosphere, are chic, cosy and comfortable. Elegant and warm, they can accommodate from 1 to 3 people. Some have views of the park terrace, others overlooking the sea. All are conducive to relaxation, rest, and are fully equipped to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
- Non smoking room
- Room service
- Cable and/or satellite television
The hotel is home to a unique spot, Le French Bistrot. You can relax in a cosy atmosphere and enjoy various local drinks. To start the day, Hélène and Luc offer you a buffet breakfast that will make you discover many delicious products of the region: Bajocasse, fresh goat cheese made by hand in Nonant, Camembert cheese, honey from the apiary of Martragny, apple juice from the Fumichon farm, in Vaux-sur-Aure.
LE FRENCH BISTROT
The hotel is located in the heart of a beautiful seaside resort, Arromanches-les-Bains, in Calvados. You can then travel in a region marked by history and sublimated by nature.
ARROMANCHES-LES-BAINSThis beautiful seaside resort of Calvados retains the stigma of the Second World War: its beach is still dotted with ghostly concrete floats. Arromanches-les-Bains recalls the technical feat accomplished by the Allies in the aftermath of 6 June 1944: the construction, in a few days, of a floating artificial harbour. An essential step in the discovery of the history of the D-Day, Arromanches is home to a moving D-Day Landing Museum.
BAYEUX CATHEDRAL20 minutes from the hotel is the sublime Bayeux Cathedral. Built during the reign of William the Conqueror in the eleventh century, it mixes Romanesque and Gothic styles. To decorate it, the bishop of Bayeux, who is none other than Odon, half-brother of William, commissioned the immense embroidery known worldwide as the “Bayeux tapestry” (preserved at the Bayeux Tapestry Museum). Only the crypt and the towers remain of the original Romanesque building.
MONT-SAINT-MICHELLess than 1 hour from the hotel is Mont-Saint-Michel. This rocky island hosts a beautiful Gothic cathedral and a small village. According to legend, Aubert, Bishop of Avranches, was ordered by Archangel Michael to build a church on this rock, in the year 709. And Mont-Saint-Michel was, during medieval times, one of the most important places of religious pilgrimage. Admire, from the ramparts, the impressive tides that enter the bay.
BAYEUX TAPESTRYAt the Bayeux Museum, you can see the Bayeux tapestry, 70 metres long and 50 centimetres high, made in the 11th century, showing the conquest of the throne of England by William the Conqueror until the end of the Battle of the Hastings. Since 2007, this tapestry has been inscribed in the Memory of the World register by UNESCO.
What our customers say
We stayed here at Les Villas Arromanches and used as home base for our Normandy portion of vacation in France. Very nice respite from the City. Nice staff and accommodations.
Thank you for assisting me and my dad! We loved staying here. I hope to be back with my husband someday.
The hotel is gorgeous and in an ideal location. Within easy walking distance of plenty of restaurants and bars. Staff extremely welcoming and helpful....nothing is too much trouble. Would recommend it to all our friends.
"Mont St Michel hideaway"
We stayed at Auberge St. Pierre for one night and were given a room in the center of the town with a view of the water. The room was pleasant the location was central and I had a delightful time throughout the evening and in the morning before crowds arrived.
